This trip started out in London. We spent three days here (and would spend 3 more on the way out). We went to the British Museum, Stonehenge, Salisbury Cathedral, and a trip on the Thames River to Greenwich |
From London, we flew to Copenhagen for three more days. We connected up with Chip Shore, a long time friend, partner Basha, and roommate "Peachy". They showed us a wonderful time. Here, happy hour on a rented electric boat cruising the canals. |
![]() The only way to get around in Copenhagen is by bike. Fact: Bikes outnumber cars by a factor of five to one! Chip graciously allowed us to borrow his cargo bike, did we say Electric Cargo Bike? So much fun but the rules of the road are somewhat different here and you definitely have to watch what you are doing. Barb navigated while Jack drove... we had some exciting times on "Brutus" (click image) |
Then, on to Norway for a month. During the first week in the South, we rode trains, buses and boats and visited many fjords. They took us to Oslo,
Flåm, Bergen and
Ålesund. The Norwegians seem to have an obsession with gnomes! |
Above, on a fjord tour from
Flåm (pronounced Flom) coming to the small town of Gudvangen, located at the end of the Nærøyfjord. Forget trying to pronounce words in Norwegian... almost everyone speaks perfect English! The "click" image is a fjord tour to Øy on the Hjørundfjord. Drop dead gorgeous! |
